It's plug n play, no splicing required. Easy self installation, no need an expert, plenty of videos on youtube.
If you are an Android user, you must ground the parking brake wire (green wire) to use Android Auto. For Apple users there is no need, carplay works fine. It's just an annoying software/intergration issue with Android Auto on Android phones. You can read about it online.
