This part is necessary if you don't want to manually wire in your steering wheel controls to your aftermarket head unit. Note you will need to purchase another harness for the harness...this is stated on the package, but if you are not really and actively looking for it on the package you will miss it. I want to give 3 stars for the sheer headache of me having to go to multiple stores to buy multiple harnesses. Hyperdrive didn't have the CHSZ1C harness required for my install. However, I will give 4 stars because it is quite tidy and plug and play behind my head unit.
